These green chairs have been around Paris since 1923 when they debuted at the Jardin Du Luxembourg. Known as SENAT chairs, the design was commissioned by the French Senat to replace the old wooden benches. These emblems of French design were actually rented to the public until 1974. Now, they are freely available to all to sit and people watch. Painted in Paris.
